The building is set up for a day with small children: toilets and baby changing on every floor, buggies lent on request, and lockers on the 4th and 1st floors. The Restaurant, café and coffee bar are all on the 4th floor, where the kids’ dishes – pasta Bolognese or pancakes on a recent menu – come from a menu that changes every week; allergens are marked, and the Restaurant takes allergy questions. The trade-off is where you eat your own food: packed lunches are allowed, but only in the area just inside the water-facing entrance on the 1st floor, three floors below the cafés. The museum is cash-free, so bring a card. Wheelchairs can be borrowed from the museum hosts.
