Drottningholm Palace is a Baroque royal palace designed by Nicodemus Tessin the Elder and Nicodemus Tessin the Younger and commissioned by Hedvig Eleonora of Holstein-Gottorp. It is listed as a World Heritage Site. It is also still a royal home, and that is the trade-off: the rooms in the southern wing are reserved as the royal residence and stay closed, while the rest of the palace and the grounds are open to the public all year.
The Chinese Pavilion has its own ticket, and a combined ticket covers both it and the palace. Children aged 6 or under get in free when they are accompanied by an adult.
