Zlín-Lešná Zoo is open every day of the year, with longer hours in summer and a short day on Christmas Eve. Feeding is the draw for children: the zoo lists stingray feeding in its Stingray Bay as year-round and giraffe feeding as running from April to September, though it gives those as seasonal windows rather than fixed times. A zoo train also runs from April to October; the zoo does not state its price.
Plan the end of the day around the buildings. The pavilions and exhibits close half an hour before the zoo itself, with two exceptions: the tropical hall and the Oman cownose ray bay stay open to the end. If the last thing on your list is indoors, do it earlier.
The trade-off is the car park. Parking is free, but the zoo itself says that because of capacity it is best to arrive early, so a late-morning arrival by car risks a search for a space. The city bus stops near the main entrance, which is the alternative.
Food is spread across several restaurants and snack bars on site, and cards and euros are accepted at all of them as well as at the ticket offices. Lešná Chateau has its own tickets and its own seasonal hours.
