Olomouc Zoo is open every day of the year and is reached by city bus straight from the main railway station. Several children’s playgrounds are marked on the zoo map, which gives younger children somewhere to run between enclosures, and nursing corners give parents of babies a private place to feed.
Restaurace Pod Věží serves food daily all year, and the other food outlets open at the same time and close with the zoo, so lunch can happen on site rather than as a trip back into town.
One thing to plan for: the tills take cards and there is an ATM on site, but euros are not accepted, so families arriving from across the border need Czech crowns or a card.
