OUR FAMILY ASSESSMENT

Family Intelligence

The museum is spread across three separate areas, and they work differently. The Wallachian Village can be toured without a guide, while Water Mill Valley is seen only on a guided tour. The central ticket office for all the areas is in the Sušák visitor building, which also has toilets, refreshments and souvenirs, and a themed sheet with a map is available at the ticket desk there. The trade-off is winter: the cottages of the Wallachian Village close for the season, so you can still walk the village but not go inside.

Why kids will love it

Two things are built for children here. In Little Wooden Town, a working historic carousel with carved wooden animals stands on the meadow between Bill’s cottage and Janík’s barn and is run by museum staff. Behind the granary from Heřmanice, a children’s yard shows young visitors, through play, how earlier generations lived on the farm and in the forest.
