Jihlava Zoo is a straightforward day out from the town centre: the trolleybus stops at Zoologická zahrada, and a signed footpath leads the last stretch to the main entrance. The child ticket runs all the way to the eve of a child’s 18th birthday, so teenagers still count as children here, and families who hold the Czech Rodinný pas card get a discount if they bring the physical card.
For wheelchair users, a chair can be borrowed at the main ticket office against a refundable deposit, and the giraffe house has a wheelchair platform that works with a special key you borrow at the ticket office. Older children who are keen on animals can join an evening tour with a zoologist, which is pitched at adults and young enthusiasts from 12.
The trade-off is for dog owners: dogs are not allowed in, with the only exception being assistance and guide dogs on duty, and those not inside the pavilions.
