Brno Zoo sits on a tram, bus and trolleybus stop of its own, Zoologická zahrada, so most families can arrive without a car. Through the day there are scheduled animal feedings, the polar bears among them, and younger children have the Children’s Zoo and playgrounds. Until 28 October 2026 the zoo also hosts an exhibition on Mongolia, “the land of the last nomads and the blue sky”. For a longer outing, a combined ticket covers a boat trip to Veveří Castle or Veverská Bítýška plus entry to the zoo. The trade-off right now is the arrival: the traditional entrance area is being rebuilt, the zoo’s own car park is temporarily closed, and the temporary ticket desks are further uphill, reached by crossing the construction site. Families with a dog can bring it for a fee, but dogs stay out of the pavilions, the playgrounds and the Children’s Zoo and must be on a leash throughout.
