The Tomb of Caecilia Metella is an ancient Roman tomb in Rome, protected as Italian national heritage and run as an archaeological site with a museum of finds, within the Appia Antica Archaeological Park. The mausoleum area has tactile information panels in Braille, so the monument and its history can be read by touch as well as by eye. The trade-off is getting in: the mausoleum is connected to the visitor route by flights of stairs, and the San Nicola church area in front of it is only partly accessible, so plan for steps with a pushchair or anyone who struggles with them.
