Family Intelligence

The zoo sits about three kilometres from the middle of Copenhagen. Bus 7A stops directly at the entrance; from Valby Station, Fasanvej or Frederiksberg Allé it is a walk of one to one and a half kilometres. Wagons can be hired at the entrance for 80 kroner, twenty of which is a deposit you get back, and a small number of wheelchairs are lent free of charge — phone a couple of days ahead if you need one. Lockers start at 50 kroner a day. Every child is handed a free activity booklet on the way in.

Why kids will love it

Three indoor sections — Tropezoo, Natzoo and Zoolab — mean the visit does not collapse when the weather does, and in winter the children’s zoo has a heated lunch house where you can sit down with your own food. The zoo stays open in all weathers and lists no closing days at all.
