OUR FAMILY ASSESSMENT

Family Intelligence

Bakken sits inside Dyrehaven, the forest north of Copenhagen. Restaurants, cafés and food stalls are spread among the rides, and MiniBakken, the park’s playground, doubles as the practical base for young families: changing facilities, a nursing chair and a microwave for formula are all in the same place. Further changing points sit under the roller coaster and by the forest toilets at the entrance.

Your own food is not welcome inside the park, with an explicit exception for baby food and water for infants. The forest is the way around it: a packed lunch is fine out in Dyrehaven, and the park itself points to the meadow in front of the water slide or the shore of Kildesøen behind the Viking ship Dragen.

Why kids will love it

Free admission changes the shape of the day. You can walk in without committing, see how the children take to the place, and decide what to buy afterwards. The trade-off waits at the counter: rides are paid for separately, and a dated wristband belongs to the day it was issued, so it can be neither moved to another date nor refunded, with no illness exception stated. That matters most when the forecast is unsettled, because rides generally keep running in rain but can close temporarily in thunder or strong wind.
