Experimentarium is a hands-on science centre, and a good part of it is built for children too young to read the signs. The Miniverse is a science exhibition for ages 1 to 5 together with their parents, and a grown-up has to stay with the child the whole time. The Valley is a nature-inspired play universe for ages 3 to 6, and at The Beach children play and experiment with water. Families who bring their own lunch and snacks can eat them in the picnic area; there is also a restaurant on the 1st floor, and water bottles can be refilled on the ground floor. Accessible toilets are on every floor, reached by lift, and you can leave and come back the same day on a valid ticket. The thing to plan around is the ticket: it is tied to one date and cannot be refunded or moved, so booking online for the discount commits you to that day.
