OUR FAMILY ASSESSMENT

Family Intelligence

Millennium Park is an urban park in Chicago, founded in 2004 and created using principles of universal design. It is a city park rather than a single attraction: there is a Welcome Center for orientation, a Park Shop, the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, and the park is the venue for several of the city’s music festivals, including blues, gospel, house and jazz. The one thing to know before you go with small children: construction work has closed the restrooms on either side of the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, while the restrooms in the Park Shop building stay open during park hours.

Why kids will love it

As part of a temporary exhibition, Zaq Landsberg’s Reclining Liberty lies at ground level, and visitors are invited to touch, sit on, lean against and climb the monument. With free entry and long daily hours, the park can be a short stop as easily as a longer one.
