The Wurstelprater has no gate and no entry fee. It is an open area where each attraction is run by its own operator and charges for itself, so a visit costs exactly as many rides as you choose to take. You can wander through, let the children look at everything first, and pay only where you stop. Most rides take cash only, although the Giant Ferris Wheel (Wiener Riesenrad), Madame Tussauds and many other operators also accept cards.
Some rides have height and age limits set by the authorities. They differ from ride to ride and are posted on a sign at each attraction, and staff decide on the spot.
The rides run in the main season, while the grounds themselves stay open all year. From mid-November to early January a winter market is held on Riesenradplatz. The information point on Riesenradplatz can treat minor injuries.
