Full-priced general admission bought at least four days ahead is 10% cheaper, though that discount cannot be combined with others. The free transit round trip that comes with every ticket, including event tickets, applies to eligible Metro buses and Link light rail and has to be claimed. Cyclists get free covered, secure bicycle parking at the West Entrance.

Driving is the trade-off: the zoo lots charge by the hour up to a daily maximum. Vehicles displaying a valid disabled parking placard park free in any zoo space, every lot has ADA accessible stalls, and electric vehicles park free while charging.

Only service animals are allowed on zoo grounds, and guests aged 13 and up may not wear costumes or disguises that conceal their identity.
