Sanrio Puroland opened in 1990 and is built around the Sanrio characters, spread over several floors. Two attractions are made for the whole family: the Sanrio Character Boat Ride, a Hello Kitty party trip by boat, and Lady Kitty House, the only attraction where the whole family can have their photo taken with Kitty. Lunch can be at Restaurant Yakata, a buffet-style restaurant.
Parents of babies are well looked after. The Baby Center has nursing rooms, hot water for formula, a baby food space and a kitchen for preparing formula and baby food, and there are changing tables in the women’s restrooms, some men’s restrooms and the multipurpose toilets as well. A children’s toilet is in the women’s restroom next to Discovery Theater.
The catch: on weekends, public holidays and weekdays when the park closes at 18:00, strollers cannot be used on the first and second floors, so a baby carrier is worth bringing on those days.
