The Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium group several museums in central Brussels, among them the Old Masters Museum. The ticket prices listed for the Old Masters Museum let children and teenagers in free, so an adult ticket is the main cost of a family visit there.
The museums run a programme for families on set dates. HAPPY SUNDAY! KIDS & FAMILY is a bilingual activity for children from age 6, in French or Dutch together with English, built around poetry, colour and movement. The next session listed is on 11 October 2026. Just before Christmas, on 22 December 2026, there are winter and Christmas stories for children, told in French.
The trade-off is language. Much of the programme, including the free guided tour, the Christmas stories and the tours for blind and visually impaired visitors, is in French or Dutch, and only the family Sundays include English. Families who speak only English should plan around those Sundays.
The ticket offices close half an hour before the museum does, according to the Old Masters Museum’s listed hours. Arriving close to closing time leaves you very little time inside.
