Metsä is two places in one. Metsä Village is the free area you walk through first; Moominvalley Park, beyond it, is the ticketed part, and some attractions inside it cost extra on top of the entry ticket. Your ticket lets you leave and come back the same day as long as you show it again, so a lunch break out in the village doesn’t cost a second admission.
For families with babies, the practical side is covered. There are nursing rooms with hot water in both areas, restaurants let you bring your own baby food to eat alongside the rest of the family, and water bottles are allowed into Moominvalley Park. Strollers and wheelchairs can be rented, and payment by card, transit cards such as Suica and PASMO, or QR codes such as PayPay is accepted.
The catch is the stairs. Strollers are allowed into the park, but not into some buildings with a lot of steps, where you leave them at the designated stroller parking, and Moomin House itself is stairs-only.
