Kew Gardens is a day on foot. Seasonal paths, themed walks and family-friendly routes lead through the Gardens, and the Palm House shelters an indoor rainforest of tropical plants from some of the most threatened environments in the world. There is also a dedicated Children’s Garden, where adults on their own are generally not admitted.
The trade-off is distance. There are plenty of indoor spaces, but the site is big enough that much of the visit is spent outdoors walking between them, so dress for whatever the sky is doing. If the Palm House is the reason for the trip, note that its renovation is likely to begin early in 2027; it stays open until then.
