Tate Britain splits into two kinds of visit. The collection galleries are free and open without a ticket, which makes a short, unplanned stop easy. Temporary exhibitions are ticketed and timed, and that is the catch with children: once you leave an exhibition you cannot go back in, and tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged, so a toddler meltdown halfway through ends that visit. The current Tate Britain Commission, by Zineb Sedira, is free to see. For breaks, the Djanogly Café serves food and drink from homemade salads and pastries upward, and baby changing is on the Lower Floor alongside the toilets.
