The Trocadéro Gardens are an urban park founded in 1937, and they cost nothing to walk into. The centrepiece is the Warsaw Fountain, a long basin fired by a row of water cannons. To the east and west, English-style gardens break up the formal lines with winding paths, small pools, rocks and little bridges, which give children something to explore beyond the main view.
The park is spread out on both sides of the fountain, so it works as a loose stop between other plans rather than a single sight with one entrance.
The trade-off is timing: the fountain’s water show is at its most spectacular on summer nights, when it is lit, so a daytime visit gets the gardens but not the full effect.
