The castle is home to the Museo Nacional de Historia, and the metro is the straightforward way in: Chapultepec station on line 1 has direct access to the Bosque de Chapultepec. Another route is Auditorio on line 7, then Metrobús line 7 to Gandhi, followed by a walk through the park and up the ramp to the museum. The museum has no parking of its own, at least during regular hours.
The trade-off is what you can carry: food and water bottles are not allowed inside, so snacks and drinks belong before or after the visit. Selfie sticks, tripods, stabilisers, flashes, GoPros and professional cameras are also banned, as are photo shoots and costume changes, so leave the kit at home.
