Ocean Park is split between The Waterfront and The Summit, and much of a family day revolves around the animals. Short feeding demonstrations run through the afternoon: dolphins at the Marine Mammal Breeding and Research Centre and penguins at South Pole Spectacular on The Summit, red pandas at Giant Panda Adventure and meerkats at Little Meerkat and Giant Tortoise Adventure on The Waterfront.
For younger children, the Jungle of Giants playground has climbing racks, rope courses and gentle rides designed for their age. Wide pathways and lift access make getting around with a buggy easier, and the restaurants offer high chairs, kids’ meals, vegetarian choices and allergen-friendly menus. During Halloween Fest the park stays open into the evening, with haunted experiences such as Voodoo Boo Terror Park running after dark; outside the festival, hours vary by day.
One thing to plan around: bags, coolers and luggage above the park’s size limit are not allowed inside, so anything bulky has to go to the Baggage Rental Counter at The Waterfront before you start.
