Kowloon Walled City Park is an urban park founded in 1995 in Kowloon City District. Its garden is laid out along eight Flora Paths, each named after the plants and flowers it displays or the shapes, patterns and colours it reveals, which gives children something to look for as they walk. Free guided tours for park visitors run at set times and last about half an hour. The draw for older children is the “Kowloon Walled City: A Cinematic Journey” Movie Set Exhibition, which costs nothing. The trade-off is getting in: the venue is small, viewing runs in short timed sessions, and tickets are handed out at the information counter in front of the Yamen on a first-come, first-served basis while stocks last, so a family arriving late in a session window may only get the garden.
