OUR FAMILY ASSESSMENT

Family Intelligence

Entry to the main collection needs no ticket, and you are welcome to come and go during opening hours, so the museum doesn’t have to be done in one go. Only the temporary exhibitions need a ticket of their own.

The trade-off is food. Your own food and hot drinks aren’t allowed inside the museum, for the safety of the collection; packed lunches go to the outdoor seating in the entrance courtyard, and the indoor option is the Courtyard Restaurant in the glazed courtyard. Because re-entry is allowed, stepping out for a snack and coming back in is part of the plan rather than the end of the visit.

The practical things sit together on the lower ground floor, off Founders’ Court: toilets, a baby change cubicle, a water fountain and free lockers. Large bags aren’t allowed in, and bags may be searched.
