PokéPark Kanto is a Pokémon theme park that opened in 2026. It sits inside Yomiuriland but has its own tickets; any PokéPark ticket also gets you into Yomiuriland, though rides and facilities there are paid for separately. The park has two parts, Kayatsuri Town and Pokémon Forest.

Pokémon Forest is the trade-off to weigh. It is built into the natural terrain, with stairs and steep uphill slopes, and entry is restricted for safety and evacuation reasons.

This is an outdoor park that stays open in the rain, so pack rain gear, including for the entry queue, which is also outside. Only in stormy weather may Pokémon Forest and the Pikapika Paradise and Buibui Voyage areas pause. Hours vary by day, and there are regular closing days.

Inside, Trainer’s Pass and Town Pass holders buy timed tickets for attractions at the ticket wagons in Kayatsuri Town, and some facilities also need a numbered ticket from the official PokéPark Kanto app. That numbered ticket can only be requested once your ticket has passed the Yomiuriland entrance gate, and currently not before 11:45.

Japan residents with a Japanese phone number that can receive SMS buy tickets on the official site or app; visitors living abroad buy through an external, English-only site. For entries from November 2026 onward, every visitor’s ID is checked at the gate, so bring ID on the day.

Why kids will love it

For children who know their Pokémon, this is a theme park built around them, with a forest laid out in the natural terrain. It stays open in the rain, when the Pokémon and the forest take on a different look; only storms may pause parts of it.
