The Southern Fuegian Railway is a heritage tourist train, open to the public since 1994, running a route into Tierra del Fuego National Park. Every ticket covers the full return journey, so you can get off at the National Park station, look around and come back on a later train at no extra cost, as long as there is space. Note that the national park entry is a separate, required purchase on top of the train ticket.
The train runs every day of the year, holidays included, and departures are only cancelled when extreme weather makes the trip unsafe. Tickets are sold for a departure slot rather than a single train, and you may be seated on any of the trains that leave within that slot. The box office sells only what is left on the day, so booking online in advance matters, especially in high season. Meals on board belong to the Premium service, with vegetarian, vegan, coeliac and intolerance options chosen when you book; children travelling free do not get the Premium menu. You can arrive by car, taxi, regular bus line or on a national park excursion, and passengers park for free.
