OUR FAMILY ASSESSMENT

Family Intelligence

Tierra del Fuego National Park was founded in 1960 and lies outside Ushuaia. Most visitors arrive by vehicle along Ruta Nacional 3, whether on a booked excursion, by taxi, remis or their own car. The alternative is to combine the visit with the End of the World Train, which leaves from the Ferrocarril Austral Fueguino station before the park entrance; the trade-off is that families without a car must arrange their own transfer back. Inside, the Alakush Visitor Center is the place to rest and warm up, with a viewpoint on its upper floor. Boat trips leave from the dock in Ensenada Bay and land on Isla Redonda, and fly fishing is allowed on the Ovando and Lapataia rivers with a permit from the National Park Office.
