Warsaw Zoo was founded in 1928 to designs by the architect Wenanty Burdziński, and the site is on Poland’s register of protected monuments. It opens every morning of the year, including Sundays and holidays.
The season shapes the day more than anything else. In the autumn–winter season tickets are cheaper, but in the darkest months the zoo also closes earliest in the afternoon, and last entry comes before that, so a winter visit works best with an early start.
Tickets are sold at the ticket offices, at ticket machines and online, so there is no need to book ahead. Visitors with a disability certificate enter free together with one adult guardian, after collecting a free ticket at the ticket office.
