OUR FAMILY ASSESSMENT

Family Intelligence

Aquarium Barcelona is a public aquarium founded in 1995, with a cafeteria and restaurant looking out over the sea and the Port of Barcelona. A standard ticket lets you stay as long as you like on the day of your visit, and buying ahead means you skip the queue at the entrance. The facilities are fully adapted for visitors with reduced mobility.

The catch is re-entry: once you leave the building, you cannot come back in. On a day ticket that means lunch is either the on-site cafeteria or the end of the visit, so it pays to decide which before you walk out.

Why kids will love it

Feeding time is the draw. Divers feed the sharks from poles loaded with oily fish or squid on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (not on public holidays), and the penguins in the Planeta Aqua hall are fed twice a day, every day of the week. Both schedules can move with the animals’ needs, so treat them as a guide rather than an appointment.
