Our editorial assessment — not user ratings.

teamLab Planets TOKYO sits in Toyosu, right by the north exit of Shin-Toyosu Station on the Yurikamome Line, with Toyosu Station on the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line a longer walk away. The venue has no parking of its own; Urban Dock LaLaport Toyosu gives an hour of free weekday parking to anyone showing a same-day ticket, and the venue warns that being dropped off by taxi near the front entrance is very dangerous. Entry runs on a set admission time: you come to the entrance at the time on your ticket and join the line, but that time does not limit how long you stay inside. The trade-off is commitment: tickets cannot be cancelled or refunded, and once you leave you cannot come back in, so the visit has to work as one unbroken block.

Tips & tricks

Book a timed-entry ticket online in advance — walk-up slots often sell out, especially on weekends. Wear clothes you can roll up and go barefoot in; lockers are provided for shoes, socks and bags. Budget 90 minutes to 2 hours, and go early or late in the day, when it’s a little less crowded.
