OUR FAMILY ASSESSMENT

Family Intelligence

Tsitsikamma is not one gate but several, and each area has its own fee. The forest side works as one unit: a single daily permit covers Plaatbos, the Goesa forest trails and the Big Tree, paid by card at the pay-points. Storms River Mouth has a rest camp with tent and caravan sites, and its security gate stays open around the clock, though day-visitor entry hours there are not stated. Nature’s Valley has its own office, and overnight guests arriving after it closes check in at the main gate. The trade-off: the forest permit does not include Storms River Mouth or Nature’s Valley, which charge separate conservation fees, so combining the forest with the coast in one day means paying twice.

Why kids will love it

Children can see the Big Tree and walk the Goesa forest trails on one permit, and families who want to stay longer can camp at Storms River Mouth.
