Families pay only for the adults here, which makes it easy to keep the visit short and leave when small legs give out. The Studio Café in the main building serves drinks, cakes, sandwiches and light meals, and there are baby-changing stations in both the Paulson Family Foundation Building and the Herta and Paul Amir Building.
The one thing to plan around is the stroller: at times, strollers and bags are not allowed into the galleries, and the museum does not say in advance when. If that happens, the cloakroom near the ticket offices takes them free of charge, so a baby carrier is the safer bet. Backpacks have to be worn on the front in the galleries, and anything larger than an A4 handbag goes into a locker or the cloakroom.
The museum is closed on Sundays and stays open into the evening on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Children who find crowds loud can borrow noise-cancelling headphones at the information desk, and wheelchairs can be borrowed free of charge at the cloakrooms.
