Symbio Wildlife Park was founded in 1975, and a family day here tends to split between the animals and two play areas. The Splash Park is open all year, with dump buckets, water squirters and fountains over soft, non-slip surfaces, and there are no bodies of water in it. For dry play, the Adventure Playground in the south-west corner has two flying foxes, swings, climbing walls, a fortress, slides and in-ground trampolines.
Zookeepers give interactive presentations every day, covering little penguins, meerkats, koalas, cheetahs, dingoes and a reptile show. Close-up encounters are a different matter: spaces are limited each day, so booking online ahead is recommended, although the front desk may still have same-day spots with koalas, meerkats, red pandas or little penguins.
Weekdays are quieter than weekends. Families with access needs can switch on the Accessibility Feature in the Symbio app, and anyone booking an animal experience with specific requirements is asked to contact the team before the visit.
