Skara Sommarland is a water park and funfair founded in 1984. The whole family can splash about together in Lagunen, while older children can throw themselves into Waka Waka or drop 21 metres in free fall down the Big Drop slide. The funfair, Tivolilandet, gives you an action-packed half day with unlimited rides, but you book your time there in advance, and Imola 2000 and Formula Indykart cost extra. An express-queue Jetpass for the new ride Snake can only be added when you book your visit, not afterwards. Bookings can be cancelled or changed up to 48 hours before arrival, but only to another date with the same admission price.
For small children, there is a baby changing table next to the toilets and a baby changing room next to Guest Service with a microwave and privacy for breastfeeding. Baby food jars are exempt from the park’s ban on glass. Wagons can be rented just inside the main entrance and the campsite entrance, and prams and wheelchairs are also checked at the security check. You can bring your own food to the picnic tables, and the restaurants serve hamburgers, salads, sandwiches and pancakes, all with lactose-free, gluten-free and vegetarian options. First aid is next to Splashing Hill. If you need to leave and come back the same day, ask the entrance staff for a re-entry ticket before you go out.
The trade-off is the weather. The park can close parts or all of the water park in unfavourable weather, and no compensation is paid.
The car park next to the park charges a fee and is open during the day only. Parking spaces for guests with reduced mobility are right next to the main entrance.
