San Antonio Zoo was founded in 1914. Its Beastro Restaurant looks out over the zoo’s carousel and lake, and H-E-B Plaza holds the Lemur Skywalk and the restored Monkey House, next to Guest Services and the rental lockers.
Plan meals around the zoo’s own outlets. Outside food and drink are not allowed (the exceptions are bottled water, baby food and formula, plus lunches brought by school groups), and ice chests and coolers are banned too, so a packed family picnic is not an option here.
Adult and child tickets are both advertised from as low as $8.
