Palazzo Vecchio’s museum has a standing programme of activities pitched at different ages: Vita di corte for children aged 4 to 10, Marzocco. Il Leone di Firenze and Per fare una città ci vuole un fiore for the 4-to-7s, In bottega: dipingere in fresco, a fresco-painting session, for children 8 and up, and Percorsi Segreti for 12 and over. The tower and walkway are a separate ticket from the museum. A special guided visit takes in a secret passage to the Camerino di Bianca Cappello; it has to be booked and is paid on top of the museum ticket. The museum has tactile stations, including one in the Cortile della Dogana, and Palazzo Vecchio Inclusivo offers sign-language content and podcasts. The one thing to plan around is Thursday: the palace closes in the early afternoon that day, so a Thursday visit is a morning visit.
