Opel-Zoo, founded in 1956, sits just outside the centre of Kronberg im Taunus. Every day keepers give talks at a different animal enclosure, so what you hear depends on the day you come.
Pony riding is offered for small children and runs in principle every day, though the zoo notes the schedule can change. The one thing to plan around is that it stops at age six, so older siblings will be watching rather than riding.
Public guided tours take place twice a month, usually on a Saturday afternoon, starting at the statue of the zoo’s founder just behind the main entrance. Unless the zoo states otherwise for a specific event, tours and events like these cost nothing on top of admission and need no advance registration.
