Inside, MoMA is straightforward to get around: every gallery, entrance and facility is wheelchair accessible, and all restrooms are too. Strollers are welcome, though not on the escalators. If anyone in your group has limited mobility or finds it hard to stand still for long, you don’t have to wait in line at the entrance. Free sensory kits with fidgets, noise-cancelling headphones or earplugs and sunglasses can be picked up at the information desk in the main lobby.
A Mamava feeding and lactation pod is on Floor 1 next to the restrooms; you open it with the Mamava app or a keypad code from a guest assistant. All bags are inspected on arrival, and luggage of any size is not allowed. Outside food and drink are not permitted unless sealed or for family or medical purposes.
The trade-off is the journey there: the nearest subway stations, 5th Ave/53rd St and 7th Ave, are not wheelchair accessible and have no elevators. Drivers will find several private garages nearby, some with special rates for MoMA visitors.
