Moody Gardens in Galveston combines a zoo, a botanical garden and a public aquarium, with the Aquarium Pyramid and the Rainforest Pyramid among its buildings. Lunch is easy to sort: the food court on the lower level of the Aquarium Pyramid is open daily, with a family-friendly spread from burgers and chicken strips to tacos, and the Palm Beach Shoreline Grill adds food and drinks, but only during the summer. Getting around is well thought through: every building has ramped entrances, and free wheelchairs are available at the Visitor Center and Aquarium Pyramid on a first-come, first-served basis, with a driver’s license kept as deposit. Families needing a service animal should know it is welcome on the property but not inside the Rainforest Pyramid. One thing to plan for if you come in the 2026 holiday season: the evening ‘A Very Electric Christmas’ show (19 December to 2 January) no longer serves meals, and dinner is not included in the ticket, so eat before you go in.
