Lesueur National Park was founded in 1992 and is listed on the Australian National Heritage List. It is a park you explore from the car: a one-way sealed loop runs through it, and at the Lesueur Entry Station well-marked trails with interpretive signs let you get out and walk into the wildflower country. A 50 m return trail from the entry station is wheelchair accessible, though it is the only trail described that way. At Drummonds, trails lead deeper into the bush.

For experienced walkers, the Yonga Walk Trail is a 26 km loop through hills, valleys and woodlands, open from March to November only. That is the trade-off for families: the only campground in the park belongs to the Yonga Trail, it must be booked in advance and it can only be used by people walking the trail, so without the walk a visit to the park itself is a day visit.
