The one thing the Kunsthal does not allow is walking in on a whim: everyone books an online ticket with a start time, Museumkaart holders included, although choosing the Museumkaart option means you are not charged during booking. The café opens half an hour before the galleries and stays open half an hour after closing, so you can arrive early or linger at the end. Bags larger than A4 have to go in a locker or at the cloakroom; the free lockers work with a plastic token, are limited in number and take small bags and coats, not large suitcases. If you drive, the Museum Park car park is reached only from Wytemaweg; if it is full, the Apcoa car park at the Scheepvaartkwartier is a 6-minute walk away, and you can drop someone at the entrance via Westzeedijk 341. Tram 8 stops at Kievitslaan, a minute’s walk away, but works are currently affecting tram routes. On the third Friday of each month the Kunsthal stays open until 22:00 for Friday Night LIVE, with bites, drinks, music and performances.
