Jungfrau Park is an amusement park in Matten, just outside Interlaken, founded in 2003. What families can do here today is mostly indoors and game-based. The Virtual Arena is a VR game built for whole families playing together, the simulators send you on a shuttle mission to Mars or down to sunken cities in a submarine, and the game zone has retro arcade cabinets, pinball, air hockey and table football. The arcade cabinets cost extra, though the park doesn’t say how much. The trade-off is what’s shut: the Mysty Land children’s play area is being rebuilt, the Erich von Däniken shows are closed until further notice, and the Waterplay pool with its slide is closed after damage. If your children are counting on outdoor play or splashing, this isn’t the day for it; if they like screens, simulators and games, it is. Without a car, take the train to Interlaken Ost and the Postbus to the JungfrauPark stop.
