Honolulu Zoo was founded in 1910 and is in the city of Honolulu. You don’t need to book: you can arrive at any time during the entry window and buy tickets on the day.
The trade-off is the timing. Entry stops in the early afternoon and the grounds close an hour later, so the zoo fits into a morning or a short afternoon rather than a whole day. The gift shop at the entrance rents out strollers and wheelchairs on a first-come, first-served basis, and basic first-aid supplies are kept at the front entrance for the whole day. The zoo has its own metered car park, and there is a free lot across the street.
Pets are not allowed, but fully trained service animals are welcome, and the zoo says it is accessible for wheelchair users. Credit cards are accepted and there are ATMs on site.
