Hirakata Park is an amusement park in the city of Hirakata, founded in 1910. Rides are not included in a flat day rate. You use them with ride tickets or a Free Pass.
Each attraction sets its own age and height limits, and a child may ride alone only when they meet both. Otherwise an accompanying adult rides along, and on most rides that adult pays too, so a parent’s seat adds to the cost of the day. That is the trade-off with a pay-per-ride park.
Rain does not end the visit. The Ferris wheel, the rapids ride and the movie theatre are among the attractions that keep going in wet weather, and Gnome Dining serves curry and udon indoors. The 360° 4D King theatre can be used without leaving a wheelchair and is also open to pregnant visitors.
If you drive, parking is charged per day, and you are asked to pay before returning to the car so you can leave without queuing. Large vehicles such as buses and campervans need a reservation. If the car park is full, the alternative is to drive to Hirakatashi Station and take the Keihan train to Hirakata Park. Allow around 30 minutes for that, including the wait for the train.
