Every visit to Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park starts with the Glenwood Gondola up the mountain above Glenwood Springs. At the top are two cave tours, Fairy and Kings Row, and a park of rides and family attractions; how much of that you get depends on which ticket you buy. Tickets are good for re-entry the same day.
The caves are the harder part with a toddler. Strollers, backpacks and back carriers are not allowed inside, so small children have to be carried in arms or in a front pack, and no food or liquid of any kind, water and formula included, may go in. A stroller can still come up on the gondola as long as it is folded and your child sits with you.
Outside food and coolers are not allowed anywhere in the park. The indoor Lookout Grille has a menu for children, while the Smokehouse and Defiance Dogs only open in the warmer months.
Rides and attractions are seasonal, and some may not run because of season or weather; several, such as Discovery Rock, operate in summer only. In summer, late afternoon brings fewer lines and cooler weather.
