Flamingo Land Resort

Flamingo Land Resort sits just outside Pickering in the UK, and it is two places at once: a zoo and a theme park on one site. It was founded in 1959.

Because the animals and the rides share a single site, this tends to be the day itself rather than a stop on the way somewhere else, and the order you take things in matters more than at a park with only one kind of attraction.

Practical help is concentrated rather than spread around: the medical and assistance point is inside the main entrance, not out among the rides, which is worth knowing before you walk the long way back with a tired child. One limit is worth planning for in advance — assistance dogs may come with you as far as the point where riders board, but not onto the rides themselves.

Why kids will love it

Many days out give children animals or rides. Here both sit inside the same park, so the two can be alternated across the day rather than chosen between.
