OUR FAMILY ASSESSMENT

Family Intelligence

Ferrymead Heritage Park is an open-air museum founded in 1966. A day here means moving between separate attractions: the Hall of Flame, the School House, the Aeronauts and Rural History exhibits, the Model Railway and a playground. Train rides run on Canterbury Railway Society running days, with tickets sold at Moorhouse Train Station inside the park, and tram tickets are bought on board. The thing to plan around is that many displays are run by volunteer societies and have no fixed hours of their own, so if one particular exhibit is the reason for your visit, the park advises contacting that society beforehand to make sure it will be open.
