Dorney Park was founded in 1884 and now works as two parks on a single ticket: the rides, and Wildwater Kingdom on the same site. They do not start the season together. The rides come back in early May while the water stays shut until the very end of the month, so a visit in the opening weeks is a rides-only day — worth matching against what your children are actually picturing when you tell them where you are going.
Autumn splits the place in two as well. The family event runs in daylight on selected dates, while the haunted mazes are an evening affair on selected nights from mid-September through Halloween, sold as a bundle with admission rather than included in a standard ticket. The two are not the same outing, and the evening one is not built for small children.
For deaf and hard-of-hearing visitors, sign language interpretation can be arranged, but the park wants the request well before the visit rather than on the day.
