The museum opens daily, closing only on a short list of holidays that includes Orthodox Easter, and it runs shorter hours on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. A family ticket covers parents travelling with their children. On International Museum Day in May entry is free for everyone, and on 1 June children up to 14 get in free. Guided tours are arranged on request by phone; the trade-off is that a tour in English costs more than one in Bulgarian. Accessible toilets and a specially adapted bathroom are by the temporary exhibitions hall in the entrance lobby. A ramp and mobile platform serve visitors with disabilities, though which halls the platform reaches isn’t stated.
