Devín Castle tells its own story from prehistory to modern times, and the exhibition doing the telling is pitched at children and adults alike. A short interactive part, called History is not boring, is the easy entry point for younger visitors; the permanent exhibition then uses archaeological finds from the site to explain how the castle was built, who owned it and what happened here.
The trade-off is the Upper Castle. The grounds are barrier-free for pushchairs and wheelchairs, but that top section is the exception, so with a pushchair one adult may need to wait below while the others go up.
The castle recommends that younger children stay with a responsible adult, which matters on a site built on a height.
